Suggestions for Your Prayer Time
Set the Atmosphere: Begin by quieting your heart. Choose a space where you can be still—whether it’s in your home, on a walk, or even in your car.
Start with Worship
Scripture:
Psalm 145:1-3 – “I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.”
What to Do:
Speak or sing words of worship to Jesus.
Thank Him for His love, faithfulness, and presence.
Reflect on His attributes—His holiness, grace, and power—and tell Him what He means to you.
Be Still and Acknowledge His Presence
Scripture:
Psalm 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God.”
John 15:4 – “Remain in me, as I also remain in you.”
What to Do:
Pause in stillness and invite Jesus to meet with you.
Ask Him to make you aware of His presence in that moment.
Simply listen for His voice or sit in silence, focusing on Him.
Pray from Your Heart
Scripture:
Philippians 4:6-7 – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
What to Do:
Share your thoughts, worries, and joys with Jesus.
Surrender anything you’ve been holding onto and trust Him to handle it.
Ask Him to align your heart with His will.
Reflect on His Word
Scripture:
Hebrews 4:12 – “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword...”
Matthew 11:28-30 – “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
What to Do:
Read a short passage of scripture slowly.
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal something specific to you.
Pray over what stands out and ask how you can apply it to your life.
Ask and Respond
Scripture:
Matthew 7:7 – “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
What to Do:
Ask Jesus to reveal more of Himself to you.
Pray for ways to reflect His love in your relationships and daily life.
Spend a few moments asking how you can play a part in His mission, whether through prayer, actions, or serving others.
If you sense something, respond by committing to trust and follow.
Every prayer time is an opportunity to encounter Jesus in a deeper, more personal way. These moments are not about filling the time but about meeting with Him intentionally. Be open to how He might move in your heart and life, and let this time shape your intimacy with Him. Thank you for setting aside this time—your prayers are valuable and impactful.
