For children in School Years 2-6

(6-11 year olds)

School Years 7- 11 welcome as helpers

What?

A fun club of games and activities to help your child to improve their English skills and confidence using English, especially their speaking skills.

When?

Mondays, 4.15-5.15pm - doors open 4pm in term-time (not in school holidays).

Who for?

Children in School Years 2-6 (ages 6-11) if English isn’t their first or home language. They must be living or going to school in Bromley Borough. All nationalities welcome. We are sorry that we cannot welcome children younger than Year 2 (aged 6).

Older children (ages 11-18, Years 7-13) are welcome - if English isn’t their first or home language. They can come as helpers to the younger ones, or they can sit in our “chat corner” to practise English with each other.

Do I stay with my child?

You choose. You can stay in the building in the foyer area if you want to. If you leave, please return promptly at 4.15pm to collect your child.

How will you keep my child safe?

The team are DBS checked and follow our safeguarding policy and risk assessments. If you want more information ask the team at learnenglish@hopechurchuk.org

Where?

Hope Church Bromley Common BR2 9PD Corner of Bromley Common A21 and Southland Road.

We are an 18 minute walk from both Bromley South and Bickley stations. It’s also easy by the bus - the Southland bus stop is right outside the building. If you drive you can park in most local roads (check signs) or park at Norman Park (via Hook Farm Road)

How do I sign up?

We need a parent or guardian to complete the form below before a child can attend. We have a limited number of spaces. If we are full, we will put your name on a waiting list.

Two of our young people told us why they come:

“Because I can find here new friends”

“Because I can learn here English language”

“I am glad that my child attends this group. Such communities are necessary and should exist. Children gain knowledge without tension while playing, sharing experiences, create connections and even friendships. They can relax and be themselves. The club provides support, peace, security and a friendly atmosphere” Kateryna, parent from Ukraine.
