Short Mat Bowls
We're a group of about 20 people who meet on Tuesday mornings to play bowls for fun and to enjoy one another's friendship.
There's always plenty of laughter - because of the closeness of our games, or the woods flying off the mat or because of some freak bagatelle from one wood to another leaving a wood on the jack.
In between playing, we stop for a coffee break and to exchange stories, and are sometimes
very slow to return to the bowls.
The teams are picked at random every week so we always have different winners. Ages range from the really young ones (around 60) to the not-so-young (our oldest member being over 80). Its fun, we enjoy ourselves and have a good laugh.
