Introduction

We take your privacy very seriously. The following policy details the information that we collect and store, and the steps we take to protect your privacy. This document relates to the Hope Church website at www.hopechurchuk.org and www.orpingtontownchurch.co.uk.

Site Organisation

The site is separated into two distinct areas:-

The public area of the site is accessible to any internet user.

The member area of the site is accessible only to church members, following a secure login in line with our Terms and Conditions.

Data Collection

The public area does not collect any personal data. The public area of the site collects data on which pages you have visited, and technical data including (but not limited to) operating system, browser type, screen size, IP address. This data is used to let us know how our site is being used, what information is most useful, and how the site is being viewed. This allows us to improve the site content and design for the benefit of our users.

 

The member area of the site collects the same technical data as for the public area. Additionally, the member area holds personal data on church members, including (but not limited to) address, phone number, date of birth, email address and photographs. This data is used to provide site content and services for church members.

 

Opting In & Out

All data held on church members is strictly on an opt-in basis. Members have the option to opt-out of future usage. Please email a Webmaster for more information.

Storage & Sharing of Information

Data collected by the site may be held indefinitely. It is used only by ourselves and our clients. Some personal data in the member area of the site is also available to other church members. Under no circumstances is data ever sold or given to third parties, except where we are legally required to release information in response to court orders or other legal processes.

The public area of the site does not use cookies.

The member area of the site uses temporary session-based cookies for the purposes of security and tailoring content for the user. No personally-identifiable data is ever stored in cookies. This type of cookie is normally destroyed automatically when you close your client.
